Don't run away!
Here there be dragons, possibly misleading information, and abstract notions I've never gotten around to explaining. You've been warned, and I feel better for being lazy about it. You're welcome. The TL;DR
So MicroObey is a Second Life HUD ecosystem for the facilitation of hypnosis content. It's got all the normal stuff you'd expect like spirals, pictures, and junk. The HUD is meant to be personalized with the addition of licensed content for the ecosystem. You can check out the Cranius Imperius store for licensed content (some even free!). I'm almost always going to be more up to date in world than I am with Marketplace. Because time. I don't have much of that.Unpacking
Like most everything these days, just right-click on the delivered item and "add" it. Then touch the cool as hell HUD that shows up in the middle of your screen to unpack. Eureka and shit.Adding
You can add the "MicrObey [Add Me]" object. It's going to stick itself to your center HUD position. You should see the top MicrObey nav bar up top and a red power button over to the right.Setup
There's a lot to mess around with here. Most of the setup has to do with the colors and so on for your HUD. But there's more here.
- MicrObey: This lets you set up your HUD. Colors, especially, but also time between training lines, new theme images, and so on. All kinds of crap. Play around!
- Profile: You have a profile that works for all compatible Cranius Imperius products. Your display name, trainer information, and a lot more.
- Owners: Who has universal access to your stuff?
- Whitelist: Who can access your stuff?
- Blacklist: Who is banned from accessing your stuff?
There's a lot to digest and play with before you get into content, but the content is the fun part.
Content Setup
So on content licensing. MicrObey comes with some sane defaults to get you started, but you're going to need to get content that you yourself love very soon. You can start by heading to the Cranius Imperius store in-world, and siphoning up stuff for dirt cheap (lots of stuff in-world for free, too). Now adding licenses is easy. Just unpack, "add" (should attach to a HUD), "touch". The licensing will take care of itself from there. Don't forget that other people who use your MicrObey HUD to train you can (and very likely - hopefully - will) have their own content licenses you've never heard of. Rock on.
Training
Now here's the fun part: training. You've got a red power button up at the top of your view area to the right. Touch that to get started. Because awesome. That's going to ask to take you to a web page which you should, of course, click on the "Go to page" button. That's going to take you to a "start training" page. You'll have all kinds of options to choose from: induction, trainings (up to three consecutive trainings), awakening, subject and trainer information, theme(s), spiral, and so on. Every session is personalized as much as you want. Or as little. There's ways to keep people from changing certain parts of starting a session, if you go back up to the setup and look for it.
But wait, there's more crap.
Subliminals
You can run subliminals full-time, just like what shows up in training sessions.
Speech
The MicrObey HUD lets you override speech patterns. Anything from renaming to garbling to mooing. It's fun. And good for you.
Broadcasts
Broadcasts are training reinforcements that are spoken (either privately or publicly) every few seconds. These broadcasts can be contributed to by training sessions for post-training enforcement.
Thanks!
Thank you. I hope that you enjoy MicrObey as much as I've enjoyed creating it.
