Licensing in the Cranius Imperius context allows you to purchase content that can be used across all compatible systems developed by me. This is a solution to a two part problem I've always had:
1. I need to pay the bills2. Trainers have always had to rely on the subject to have content
Beyond issue #1 - which is my problem - I wanted to address issue #2 for the new MicrObey and iObey systems (and the hypothetical in-world training systems I expect to come out of these efforts). The best way to allow for more active trainer participation is to allow for a mechanism where they can provide their own content when inducting a subject.
This also inadvertently addresses another problem that I've been thinking on for ages: more seamless updates. When you update a compatible system (like, say, MicrObey), the licensed content will immediately be available, along with all of your settings.
So was born the Cranius Imperius Content Licensing System.
So how's this work? I'll use MicrObey as an example here.
Say I'm training Doofus McGroo. When I access their HUD to train them ("/126 do" or via the MicrObey Owner HUD), the selections on the training menu is going to be a merge of licenses that I have along with the licenses that Doofus has. This goes for inductions, awakenings, trainings, themes, and spirals. So I can have my own "special" set of content that the subject wouldn't even be aware of until they're placed into training.
And that's it. I have even bigger plans for in-world stuff (think three sets of content licenses all merged). Part of the idea is to allow trainers to drive sessions. Where in the past, it's been more subject-driven, because they had to install the content themselves. Eureka and stuff.
